COMPARISON OF INTERNATIONAL RANKINGS OF UKRAINE AND POLAND IN KEY SPHERES: A SECURITY PERSPECTIVE

Background. This article explores the significance of assessing a country's development level in the context of ensuring national security. The national security of any state is directly dependent on its level of development, which necessitates a multidisciplinary approach to this concept.
Methods. In the process of evaluating a country’s development level, it is advisable to apply a system of indicators reflecting the state of each of the aforementioned spheres. This approach enables not only ongoing monitoring but also the identification of potential threats and the development of effective strategies for their mitigation. Thus, the assessment of a country's development level becomes the foundation for forecasting the dynamics of national security and formulating relevant public policies.
Results. Contemporary research shows that a country’s development encompasses not only economic aspects but also political, social, legal, environmental, humanitarian, informational, scientific-technological, and military components. This comprehensive perspective allows for a deeper understanding of the factors influencing the state of national security.
Conclusions. The article presents a comparative analysis of the development levels in key areas of life in Ukraine and Poland within the current security environment. The study reveals an existing asymmetry between the countries, shaped by historical, geopolitical, external, and internal factors. Poland demonstrates stable performance in the economic, social, legal, and humanitarian spheres due to its EU and NATO membership. Particular attention is given to the need for systemic reforms in Ukraine to ensure sustainable development and integration into the European security architecture. The findings confirm that Ukraine retains strategic potential for national revival, while Poland’s experience in transforming its security policy under regional challenges may serve as a model for states facing similar threats.
